You will receive two packages, one for the mattress (four foam layers) and one for the technology layer (the setup instructions will be in the packaging). Our mattress has been folded, machine rolled, and compressed to fit inside a box for efficient delivery.
Start with opening the taller box, take the mattress out from it, rest it on its foundation, and open up the plastic which is wrapping it (be careful not to use any item that could cut the mattress while opening the plastic).
Once the mattress has been opened and placed on its foundation (the gray fabric at the edge of the mattress should always be located towards the bottom of the mattress while the white fabric should face upwards), open the smaller box. There you will find a manual with instructions to place the technology layer over the rest of the mattress and connect your Eight Smart Mattress to your phone and the internet.
Download the app from App Store or Google Play, and follow the on-screen instructions.
During the set-up process, you will have to connect Eight to your home Wi-Fi network. Follow the prompts to connect correctly:
If your Eight disconnects from your Wi-Fi, or your network credentials change, you will have to put Eight into pairing mode to reconnect. To do so, go to the menu and under ‘My Eight’, select ‘Put Eight into pairing mode’.
A few helpful tips on the pairing process:
- You will have to click out of the Eight app and go to your phone’s Settings, and select Wi-Fi.
- In Wi-Fi, you are looking for Eight-XXXX (the X’s represent a unique 4 character combination of letters and numbers. In the example below, it is Eight-ACZV.)
- Please note that Eight doesn’t connect to 5G networks.
- During the pairing process, the hub light will blink different colors as it connects.
If your network name is not appearing, tap ‘Search’ again.
If it’s still not appearing, select ‘Other’. Enter your Wi-Fi network name and password, and tap connect.
